I am a London cabbie and I expect that in 10 years time I will not be able to work owing to severe back pain caused by speed humps.

Maybe I can then sue the councils for compensation owing to the damage the humps have done to my back over the years!

Transport Watch has carried out no detailed analysis of speed humps but, at a purely personal level, we believe that, although humps have a place, they have become far too numerous. Meanwhile each set may cost between £7,000 and £10,000. Hence we ask, does any person have an estimate of the total number of sites in the country or, alternatively, within the County or Region within which they live?
